N Codega
The Codega firm was started in Premana at the end of 1919 by Nicola Codega. He learned his craft as a
shop boy in one of the forger shops in Venice. In his native town he began his work has a cutler with
forge and emery grinding wheel down the river finishing bench in Premana.
Between the First and Second World War the number of employees changed depending on the demand.
tThe work is totally manual making objects which are useful for every day life. Nicola had three sons, one
of which is Ubaldo who will go on with the father's activity. At the beginning of the sixties, the employees
are Grandpa Nicola, Ubaldo and his son Nicola, afterwards helped by his brother Roberto, strictly family
conduction. Now there are 4 employees making knives named after regions, countries and area of
northern Italy.
