Guy Vialis Creation
The name "Laguiole" first appeared in 1829 in the Massif Central and was the forerunner of the general
purpose pocket knife to be used by shepherds and hunters but also by butchers and cooks.
A wine sommelier and collector of Laguiole, Guy Vialis wanted to make a knife which would be perfect for
both the professional as well as the amateur wine buff: something elegant but functional.
The Château Laguiole corkscrew, with its whiff of vineyards, its beautiful finish and the satisfying feel in
the hand was created by Vialis.
Guy Vialis expanded his line and with careful design and though continues to create beautiful knives that
are manufactured exclusively in France. Handcrafted and guaranteed for life.
